oil on Canvas
I am sometimes remiss in updating the galleries. Often, the photographs might have too much reflection, or be out of focus, and I neglect to take new pics. Carney’s is one such painting.
Carney’s is a bar facing the beach in Cape May. The old fashioned U-shaped bar takes up half the room. During the heyday of the Cape May Jazz Festival, Carney’s along with Carney’s Other Room was home to two of the afternoon jam sessions on Saturday afternoons. Friends Alan Weber with his saxophone trickery, and Geno White on his Stratocaster were regulars in the jam session.
I started this painting in NJ. Half completed, it was soon relegated to the pile of “one day I will finish this painting.” Once in Arizona, after I completed the studio, I finished this painting.
