What
is the 3rd Friday Art Walk? On the 3rd Friday of every month the galleries
in Millville, NJ remain open late into the evening. New exhibits open, the
artists are available to talk about their work. Art exhibitions feature
work by established artists as well as up-and-coming local talent. The bars
and restaurants feature live music. Visitors come from miles to the Arts
District that has rejuvenated this little town located halfway between Philadelphia
and Atlantic City.
Millvilles Glasstown Arts District was named one of Ten Best Towns for Working Artists by Art Calendar Magazine (March 2008). The rejuvenated, 12-block area features uniquely revitalized 19th century commercial buildings and homes that have been transformed into picturesque art galleries, working-artist studios, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Millville is conveniently located halfway between Philadelphia and Cape May. The downtown district is only three miles from the recently opened New Jersey Motorsports Park.

welcomed to place objects on Wayne Russells "Day of the Dead
Altar" located in the Fithian House garden. Altar items: notes, food,
rum, art, poems, and mementos anything that connects you with the
joyous, larger-than-life, swashbuckling Pirate Don. Bring drums and other
instruments to send him your song and rhythm. Dance your Dance and Sing
your Song.
Wayne Russells "Day of the Dead Altar" was created for
Wheaton Arts annual Day of the Dead celebration. Waynes Altar
won 1st place. In Mexico on this day, people decorate their altars to entice
spirits to commune with their family and friends. This 8 foot steel sculpture
has many skulls attached to a circular center topped with a cross. Wayne
painted each skull in memory of those who passed. One skull is for Don,
called the Crying Pirate. Wayne is a Fithian House Gallery artist who has
created art all his life and then transferred his plumbing/welding skills
